Hi, welcome to my biography. I am Carl Kegerreis the Author of Tibby And His Friend’s Big Secret, my most recent book to date. A great story for beginner readers, boys, girls, ages 9 to 13, or readers who love animals. I was born in 1939, in Indiana. My father was a United Metodist Minister and I lived in Hudson, Monroe, Leesburg, Union City, and Knightstown, Indiana. I taught Red Cross swimming, diving, lifesaving, and was a life guard at Union City, Knightstown, and Greenfield pools during high school and college. I attended North Manchester College, Ball State University, and my Junior year was drafted by the U. S. Army. I trained Army Sentry Dogs and as a Security Sgt., I was responsible for the continuous training at the Indiana and Ohio missile bases. I retired after working 34 years in the CSX Transportation Railroad Police Dept.. I was a Lt., Captain, Division Chief, and President of the Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio, Railroad Police Associations. I was a member of the Ohio Chiefs Of Police, the Lucas, Seneca, Shelby, and Wood, County Sheriff’s Associations. I wrote a biography for my family and a novel which has yet to be published. Tibby And His Friend’s Big Secret was written for my daughter who teaches 4th graders in Texas and my granddaughters. I am married to Sandra, my wife of 47 years and have been blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My wife and I live in Ohio.
Carl E. Kegerreis, Writer and Retired Federal Officer at CSX Transportation Railroad, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in service and writing.
Whilst studying speech and history at Ball State University, Mr. Kegerreis was drafted into the U.S. Army during his junior year of college in 1962. As a security sergeant handling the security for the Fifth Missile Battalion in the 56th Artillery at Wilmington, Ohio, he flourished in his role and as a sentry dog trainer. Devoted to a life of service, Mr. Kegerreis went on to work for Ellis Aires and Company until being furloughed. Subsequently, he joined the CXS Transportation Railroad in 1967, in which he worked on rail projects in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia for 22 years until his official retirement in 1999. Simultaneously, from 1980 to 1984, he excelled as a police officer, lieutenant, captain and division chief of police.
